David is currently a doctoral student in the institute of mechanics in the university of stuttgart under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-ing- Holger Steeb. Previously, David was part of the CAD-CAM-CAE group in the Universidad EAFIT (Medellin, Colombia), the mechatronics laboratory at the hochschule Bremen, and the institute of mechanics at the Ruhr-university Bochum. He holds the titles of diploma Ing. Mechanical engineering (Universidad EAFIT), B.Sc. Mechanical engieneer (hochschule Bremen), M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Universidad EAFIT), M.Sc. Computational Engineer (Ruhr-Universtity Bochum).
David’s main interests are in computed aided design, X-ray computed micro tomography, computer vision, geophysics, and laboratory experiments. He is now focused in synchrotron radiation microtomograophy time resolved experiments for multiphase fluid flow in porous media. This goes from designing the experimental setup, through the post-processing and analysis of tomographic data to find effective properties useful for geothermal energy exploration, enhanced oil recovery and CO2 sequestration.
